Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

After all the cardboard cutout Oriental fantasies that have masqueraded as movies over the years, at last comes a parody of the genre, though it's of little consequence. Dick Shawn, playing a lazy genie threatened with being turned human for not completing any duties, gives a performance that ensures indolence will affect the amount of laughs as well. While the special effects - including a rather frayed flying carpet - are as dodgy as the plotline which, of course, involves the uniting of a prince and princess in wedded bliss.
