Summary

Lumber-mill owner Martin Webb gives half-ownership of his mill to lumberjack Bob Lanier, who he believes is in love with his daughter Evelyn. When Martin dies, his manager schemes to get Bob out of the picture and take over the mill himself. Knowing that Evelyn is extremely possessive of Bob, his plan involves making it look like Bob, who is helping the pretty but poor Leslie Houston support her crippled father, is having an affair with the young woman. And if that doesn't work, then he's prepared to do anything, including murder, to get the mill for himself.
