My Mom's a Werewolf

Attempting to cash-in on the success of Teen Wolf, this children's comedy trades heavily on hammed-up performances and clichéd situations for its cornball laughs. John Saxon occasionally stirs himself into a display of snarling menace as the mysterious pet shop owner who bites suburban housewife Susan Blakely on the toe and then threatens to dispense with her daughter (played by Katrina Caspary), who wants to prevent her mother's lycanthropic transformation. Blakely is sportingly ditzy as she tries to come to terms with her increasingly erratic (not to mention carnivorous) behaviour, but Michael Fischa's direction lacks subtlety.
