Hercules and the Amazon Women

The first of the Legendary Journeys rather sets the tone for the series with its blithe disregard for Greek myth. In the course of his Twelve Labours, Hercules seduced the Amazonian queen Hippolyta to obtain her girdle. However, here he tries to persuade the unruly royal to ignore the dictates of her mistress, Hera, and not only desist from stealing a village's cattle, but also to concede that men and women don't have to be enemies. Anthony Quinn adds a touch of class as Zeus, but fantasy fans will revel in the opportunity to see Kevin Sorbo pit his wits against both Roma Downey and a pre-Xena Lucy Lawless.
