This is the epitome of the straight-to-video movie, a ragbag of formula thrills and recycled material from better movies. William Lustig, hardly noted for subtlety with the Maniac Cop series, peppers his tale of a professional kidnapping gone wrong with bursts of unpleasant violence and, after a tight opening, allows the script to merely become an excuse for a succession of admittedly well choreographed shoot-outs and chases. Lance Henriksen scores as the psychopathic hitman, but Jan-Michael Vincent (of TV's Airwolf) gives a marvellous impersonation of an oak desk.
