Western starring Pete Duel and Ben Murphy that preceded the TV series of the same name. Two notorious outlaws are offered an amnesty in return for staying out of trouble for a year. But they soon discover that there are more strings attached to the offer than they originally thought.
This is the pilot for the TV series that made stars of Ben Murphy, Pete Duel and, following Duel's suicide in 1971, Roger Davis (who had previously been the show's narrator). Clearly inspired by the success of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, the emphasis is more on character and comedy than all-out action, though outlaws Hannibal Heyes and "Kid" Curry weren't averse to rolling up their sleeves if necessary. Here they strike a bargain with the governor of Kansas to stay out of trouble for a year, only to discover their amnesty will be a closely guarded secret so they will remain wanted men.
