Cupid

Although he has been behind such high-profile releases as Deep Cover and Videodrome, producer Pierre David has a nice little sideline in efficient but mechanical straight-to-video thrillers. This one has Gremlins star Zach Galligan as a wealthy but twisted writer hooked on the Cupid legend, who believes that somewhere out there is his ideal woman. The problem is that when they fail to live up to his expectations, he bumps them off. There's a little bit of suspense, but Doug Campbell's direction is pedestrian and the performances are unconvincing.
