Review
Christopher Lambert reunites with Highlander director Russell Mulcahy for this serviceable serial-killer thriller, in which a religious fanatic spends Lent constructing a corpse to host what he believes will be Christ's resurrection. With Lambert's detective doing a little soul-searching of his own after his wife leaves him, there's a half-hearted attempt at saying something significant about the modern world. But the emphasis is firmly on action and the various dismemberments. Cinematographer Jonathan Freeman achieves some nice visual effects through the rain and Mulcahy directs with bravado, but it's not a patch on the similarly themed Seven.
