Roller Boogie

Beware the movie made swiftly to cash in on a fad. Sometimes, like the Sam Katzman rock'n'roll quickies, they retain a period charm. Sometimes, like this quasi-amateurish mishmash of low budgetry about roller disco fans ganging together to stop the closure of the local boogie centre, they're virtually unwatchable. Fans of The Exorcist's Regan may well wonder what happened to her, but the sad truth is that Linda Blair lurched from one cheapo exploiter to another, and she's usually much better than the movies in which she found herself. Director, Mark L Lester (no, not the kid from Oliver!), is probably better known for helming the early Schwarzenegger vehicle Commando.
