Alp-sized tenor Luciano Pavarotti's film debut ended up as a contrived star vehicle, with the singing mountain playing an opera star (surprise, surprise) who falls for the woman throat specialist called in to cure him when his voice fails during a US tour. It's just about as bad as it sounds. But add an extra star to the rating if you're potty about Pav, and have to see anything he sings in.
