Silent comedy starring Harold Lloyd as the hapless Hubby, who struggles to contend with a live turkey, his hated in-laws and a haunted house.
Harold Lloyd's previous comedy, Girl Shy, was eight reels long and had theatre owners complaining about the gaps between the pratfalls. Lloyd got the message and took the scissors to Hot Water, cutting out the intricate plotting and concentrating on his trademark stunts. The story is simple - Lloyd is a newly married man coping with shopping, traffic and, naturally, the mother-in-law. This isn't one of Lloyd's best films, though his bespectacled character always has charm and there's a brilliant scene in a traffic jam when he's encumbered by a turkey that he's won in a raffle.
