Blind detective Duncan Maclaine relies on his working senses to piece together an assortment of clues to solve a case of murder.
Edward Arnold stars as the blind detective, Captain Duncan Maclain, whose guide dog, a German shepherd named Friday, helps solve a trio of slayings and prevents a fourth. The clue common to all the murders is a perfume which the dog recognises. Arnold's character, plus dog, first appeared in director Fred Zinnemann's second feature Eyes in the Night, but this sequel, directed by Richard Whorf, fails to realise its potential, and ends up as "Lassie Gets Her Man".
