Summary

A county sheriff is accused by his two daughters of having abused them. Under interrogation, and guided by his pastor, he thinks the devil has blinded him to his guilt and confesses. The girls' accusations get more and more elaborate, involving satanic rituals, their mother, other police officers and neighbors. A memory expert is called into to clarify the growing confusion and can easily see the girls are lying.

Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

In this drama based on a true story, John Shea plays the father who finds his life turning into a nightmare after his grown-up daughters accuse him of abuse, following therapy to release repressed memories. Despite the well-rounded performances of Shea and William Devane (playing the sociologist involved in the case), this controversial subject is treated here in rather trivial fashion. With such cases common in America, this deserved to have been handled in a more serious manner by TV-movie regular Dick Lowry.
