This cleverly scripted and insightful domestic drama about a divorce lawyer who can't solve the problems within his own marriage is co-written and directed by the talented Donald Wrye, whose work includes the Jack Lemmon version of The Entertainer. As the high-powered attorney, Tom Selleck proves yet again that he's a far more personable screen actor than you'd reckon from Magnum PI or High Road to China, and he's well teamed here with Saturday Night Live's Jane Curtin, best remembered for being half of Kate and Allie. This drama is also worth catching for the last screen appearance of Joan Bennett, whose film career began in 1916 and includes such highlights as Little Women, Mississippi and Father of the Bride.
