Shadows of the Peacock

Before decamping for Hollywood, Australian director Phillip Noyce signed off with this uneven drama. Wendy Hughes is the mother trying to rebuild her life after discovering her husband has been cheating on her and finding romance in Thailand with the bewitching John Lone. It looks glorious and is superbly played by the talented cast, although the suspicion remains that there is less going on here than meets the eye.
