Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

For all his solid work in French pictures, Thierry Lhermitte has yet to make much of an impact on the international scene and films like this one are hardly likely to further his cause. Seeking to break with his amiable screen image, he plays a ruthless debt collector whose dangerous liaison with a mystery woman can only lead to one thing. Those familiar with Fatal Attraction (or one of its many imitations) will be at least one step ahead throughout, as Nadia Farès makes his life increasingly uncomfortable. Devoid of passion, suspense or social grit, this is the sort of mildly salacious suspenser that Hollywood has the decency to send straight to video. Don't wait up.
