The Indiana Jones movies breathed new life into the lost treasure adventure genre, which was already in mothballs way back in the 1950s when Paramount wheeled out this lumbering yarn. Fernando Lamas and Rhonda Fleming are the adventurers seeking a cache of gold unfortunately hidden in a region of the Amazon jungle populated by a tribe of headhunters, known as Jivaro. There's more life in the background foliage (shot on location) than in leads Lamas and Fleming. Much better are supporting players Lon Chaney Jr and the young Brian Keith in one of his earliest roles. This was re-titled The Lost Treasure of the Amazon in Britain.
