Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

Director Graham Holloway works wonders with a tiny budget for this Scottish labour of love, a gritty period piece about the events leading up to the ill-fated Battle of Culloden. The story focuses on a proud Highland family who unwittingly get drawn into - and are divided by - the Jacobite rebellion against the hated English. Money considerations means it doesn't have the epic sweep that is needed, but the talented cast (including Iain Cuthbertson, Brian Blessed and former Marillion singer Fish) more than make up for any budget deficiencies.
