Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

Cheap and cliché-ridden it may be, but this Stargate meets Star Wars hybrid is an enjoyably unpretentious fantasy romp. All-American Josh Charles learns from a mysterious stranger that the crystal around his neck is the key to a trans-dimensional portal where time and space have no meaning. In this crossworld, where everyone is red-hued and moves in slow motion, he teams up with Ben Kenobi clone Rutger Hauer in a battle for survival against megalomaniac Stuart Wilson, who not only has designs on the universe but also killed Charles's father years earlier. If you can get over the slow start and revel in the low-rent George Lucas homages, this will be an entertaining experience.
