Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

A young couple discovers their new dream home isn't all it's cracked up to be when the creepy previous owner can't say goodbye in this by-the-book suburban thriller. Meagan Good and Michael Ealy see their domestic bliss become a nightmare, as widower Dennis Quaid hangs around and goes to disturbing lengths to ensure the memories he shared with his late wife are preserved. Quaid's archetypal panto villainy is the first clue that all is not well, and almost every subsequent shock or surprise is telegraphed with tedious predictability. Worse still, any attempts at old-school suspense are crassly undermined by gratuitously gruesome scenes of violence and torture that are more suited to full-gore horror of the Saw franchise.
