Review
A fine telling of the true story of two cops, nicknamed "Batman and Robin", who used unconventional crime-busting techniques to stop drug dealing in the Bedford-Stuyvesant area of New York's Brooklyn. A sort of French Connection with more laughs, the film is fast, furious, and often very funny, and benefits from using the actual locations where real-life events occurred. Ron Leibman and David Selby play super cops David Greenberg and Robert Hantz with the bona fide detectives popping up in bit parts. Coincidentally, the screenplay was by Lorenzo Semple Jr who also scripted the 1966 Batman movie.
