Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

A catchpenny title, since stars Robert Taylor and Barbara Stanwyck were alleged to be "that way" about each other. But don't be deterred from watching this cracking crime story, set in the early 1900s. The "affair" turns out to be Taylor's mission: he's been sent to the Midwest by President McKinley to root out bank robbers. Stanwyck is absolutely wonderful in an atypical role as a saloon singer, and it's easy to see how Taylor fell for her. They married for real two years later. An exciting formula movie.
