Turbulence II: Fear of Flying

Director David Mackay assembles a passenger list straight out of Stereotype Central for this tiresome, unrelated sequel to an action thriller that was itself riddled with clichés and caricatures. It's almost as if Airplane! hadn't happened, as the lovers with mile-high ambitions, the assured stewardess and the widower coping with grief join a party of dour Czechs and a group of fearful fliers on a flight from Seattle to Los Angeles. The result is more likely to provoke suppressed smirks than gasps of suspense.
