Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

Cary Grant is as magically urbane as ever in his final movie, but, sadly, leaves the romance to the youngsters. It's a colourful, easy-going romantic comedy set during the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games, where there is a shortage of accommodation. Samantha Eggar is the embassy secretary with whom British industrialist Grant lodges, and Jim Hutton is an American Olympic athlete whom Grant thinks is a better match for Eggar than her stuffy fiancé. A remake of the 1943 film The More the Merrier, it's lower on laughs but remains enjoyable thanks to Grant's effortless charm as the matchmaker.
