Summary
A story of desperate search for oil.
A story of desperate search for oil.
Barely released, this Depression-era drama stars Robert Duvall as a down-on-his-luck Texas oilman dreaming of one last big strike. Director James Keach (brother of Stacy) creates a fine atmosphere from the desolate landscape and gets some good performances - Duvall is excellent, as usual, and so are Aidan Quinn and Frances Fisher as the lowly farmers whose land may hold the key to Duvall's fortune. Fisher was the one-time partner of the film's producer, Clint Eastwood, and their daughter, Francesca, plays one of Fisher's daughters in the story.
