The rebellion against the British in Ireland forms the background to this drama. William Powell plays a British officer and concentrates more on his amorous career than the job in hand - namely the street fighting that one glimpses whenever the script starts to flag, based around the conflict between the Black and Tans and Irish Revolutionaries. Colin Clive makes his mark as a British officer, and Edna Best is his wife and Powell's mistress.
