Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

Liam Hemsworth heads the cast of this gritty crime drama as Moe, a money launderer tasked with "cleaning" $20 million in 10 days, and whose world spins out of control when he brokers a drug deal on the side. After the deal breaks down, Moe finds himself pursued by crooked cops out for blood and cash, his precarious situation further complicated by memory loss. Writer/director Malik Bader's by-the-book B-movie contains echoes of the grimy, brutal thrillers of the 1970s (and keen-eyed viewers may spot a specific visual homage or two), but is hampered by an abundance of clichés and plot twists that infuriate more than enthral. However, Hemsworth does well with the sparse tools the narrative gives him, making a genuinely charismatic anti-hero.
