Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

That marvellous French monument, Le Mont-Saint-Michel, with its broad sweep of sandy bay, makes a spectacular location for this unassuming little thriller about a commando unit that reforms after the Second World War and sets about finding some buried Nazi loot. The treasure map is in three bits, each of which needs finding first. Yet it's only when the treasure itself looks like being found that the screenplay reveals the first of several sudden twists. American star Keenan Wynn is in charge of the operation, while Mai Zetterling, a Swedish actress who made many movies in Britain, plays a mystery Frenchwoman.
