Atmospherically shot around Melbourne, this thriller keeps threatening to turn into something exceptional only to lapse back into mediocrity at all the wrong moments. John Savage seems to be in a different film from everyone else for the first third of the action as he arrives from the States to rescue his struggling business, but there's definitely a spark in the love scenes he shares with secretary Kerry Armstrong. However, the stand-out sequence involves ex-Neighbours star Guy Pearce. Writer/director Frank Howson clearly has an eye for a striking image, but his storytelling needs a little attention.
