A clever crook and a romantic triangle complicate Tarzan's efforts to bring a wanted criminal to justice.
Recalling the James Stewart/Robert Ryan western The Naked Spur, this was the last of Gordon Scott's six outings as Edgar Rice Burroughs's jungle hero. Trivia freaks will delight in the fact that his adversary here, Jock Mahoney, would succeed him two years later in Tarzan Goes to India. The real star of the show, however, is veteran John Carradine, who throws restraint to the wind as the head of Mahoney's clan, intent on ambushing the ape man before he can turn him over for trial. Betta St John also scores as the wife of weedy Lionel Jeffries, who falls for the villain's charms.
