Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

What a cast! What a letdown! After a one-film absence, Dirk Bogarde reluctantly returned to the role of Simon Sparrow in this muddled comedy and immediately announced he'd never step inside St Swithin's again. Faced with a script that reads like a medical school rag mag, the cast plods through the picture as though under anaesthetic. James Robertson-Justice has the most fun as the lovesick Lancelot Spratt, and Leo McKern as a film producer flirting with starlet Jill Adams takes an accurate pot shot at movie moguls. But Bogarde looks bored, and Samantha Eggar and Mylène Demongeot are required to do nothing more than provide the glamour.
