Review
Louis De Funès was France's second favourite comic actor after his mentor Fernandel, yet most British viewers know him solely for his manic performances in the Gendarme of St Tropez series. This fourth instalment sees him reform the old brigade in the hope of helping one of their comrades recover his memory. As ever, Michel Galabru provides some practised support, but director Jean Girault was already running low on ideas. Consequently, it won't take a bout of amnesia to erase this one from your mind.
