Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

An excellent, low-budget slice of science-fiction about a new radioactive element, created by scientists' unauthorised experiments, that doubles its size every 12 hours by converting surrounding energy into matter. Confidently directed by Curt Siodmak with an accent on approximate authenticity, and incorporating stock footage from the 1934 German classic Gold to good effect, this cosmic Frankenstein makes full use of its offbeat tone and interesting cast.
