Review

A star rating of 1 out of 5.

An underwritten script, typical of Canadian drama, makes this effort particularly incoherent, as if it started at the fourth chapter of the novel it from which it has been adapted. Centring around a homeless teen and his friendship with a child prodigy who is slowly losing his grip on reality, it frequently includes scenes and supporting characters without an obvious purpose. Key explanations are either avoided or were clearly butchered by slapdash editing, resulting in a film that feels greatly unfinished. With the language and sexual situations inappropriate for children, and a viewpoint on some serious subject material that is downright childish at times, it is unclear what audience was intended for this movie.
