Animated adventure. With a distinct lack of sportsmanship, Julius Caesar attacks Britain only during afternoon tea and cricket matches and soon the country is part of the Roman Empire. However, one village refuses to surrender and its chief sends for reinforcements in the shape of Asterix and a barrel of magic potion.

In the fifth animated movie to be lifted from the text and drawings of Goscinny and Uderzo's books, the pun-struck Gallic heroes come to the aid of a British village that's just been invaded by the Romans. The wily Asterix and the galumphing Obelix are on hand to satirise national stereotypes, and the puns are enough to make "wincemeat" of us all. The line may sometimes be weak, but the spirit is decidedly strong. May they never requiescant in pace. This also comes in a French language version .
