Horror from Night of the Living Dead director George A Romero. Bored by her suburban life, a lonely housewife picks up a book on witchcraft and decides to join a coven.
Between his classic Night of the Living Dead and its sequel, Dawn of the Dead, cult director George A Romero experimented with feminist fright in this tedious horror, in which bored suburban housewife Jan White dabbles in black magic, casting a spell that will lead to murder. Apart from some mildly interesting dream sequences, this dated and slow psychological study - all geared around White's fear of the magic disappearing from her life - is unexcitingly presented and for Romero completists only.
