Bob Einstein wasn’t as big a name in Britain as he should have been. The late actor, writer and producer was a Stateside institution thanks to his idiotically confident stuntman character Super Dave Osborne, and he often stole scenes in other people’s comedies – his famous brother Albert Brooks employed him to hilarious effect (as a pushy sports-shop salesman in the film Modern Romance), as did Larry David when he invented the role of Marty Funkhouser in Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Brooks, David, Steve Martin, Sarah Silverman and Rob Reiner are among those paying joyously funny tribute to a deadpan, hoarse-voiced one-off.
