Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

Having Christopher Walken as the archangel Gabriel merits top marks simply for bizarre casting and plot audacity, but director Greg Spence scores nothing for the way he presents this good-versus-evil showdown. Carrying on from the first movie, Walken is angered that God has favoured humans over his kind and returns to hunt down Flashdance's Jennifer Beals, who is pregnant with the saviour of mankind. But where the original boasted some good, offbeat ideas, this quickly degenerates into just another dumb chase movie. Not even the sterling efforts of Walken can save it. The whole Prophecy concept was created by Gregory Widen, who also gave us the Highlander movies and TV series.
