This youth-oriented horror flick sees an online game getting out of hand, leading to rape allegations and several bloody slayings. At an upscale university, the frat boys aim to tag certain girls' social media profiles with an exclamation mark to show their sexual availability. When things go too far, the queen bee at the female sorority questions if her star-athlete brother is one of the frat boys involved. The mounting body count complicates her inquiries though, as the movie attempts to take a more mindful approach than the usual killer-on-campus shocker. With its evident sympathies for the young women threatened by sexual violence, there's clearly some thematic ambition at work here. Sadly, the flat characterisation and plodding pace let the side down. The climactic showdown and final twist are ably achieved, but by that time our interest has waned significantly. Worth a look for genre addicts who may give its ambition some credit and forgive the wonky execution.
