Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

Hankies at the ready for this sentimental Kramer vs Kramer-style heartstring-tugger. Jon Voight stars as the divorced dad who takes his kids on a Mediterranean holiday, only to learn while they are away that his ex-wife has died and her husband may want custody of the children. While admittedly gushy towards the finale, this is best enjoyed for the earlier scenes of Voight trying to get to know his children all over again. It's a good performance by an actor who has spent his later career in more gruff (and, dare we say it, hammy) roles in movies like Mission: Impossible and Anaconda.
