Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

Edward Woodward continues to recycle his Callan character with this, the second of two routine TV movies with Woodward as a retired Scotland Yard detective in the Big Apple and Elizabeth Hurley as his daughter. Woodward is his usual solid self as he tries to unravel a plot to frame an ex-convict for a policeman's murder, while the ornamental Hurley plans her wedding. Director James Frawley, who made the disaster movie spoof The Big Bus, seems merely to be going through the motions, and the story remains a muddle.
