Eddie Cantor vehicle in which the banjo-eyed comedian frenetically gets involved with a gang of crooks masquerading as fortune tellers: one of the hoods is a young George Raft. There's some funny stuff in a bakery involving high-kicking Charlotte Greenwood, but the credited ace choreographer Busby Berkeley was still a fair way from finding the unique style that later made him a household name at Warner Bros. Despite the somewhat perfunctory work of director A Edward Sutherland, Cantor is genuinely amusing. If you haven't seen him before, he's well worth watching. Here, as he performs My Honey Said Yes, Yes, he's a fine example of a unique talent captured in his prime.
