Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

It doesn't matter that handsome Tyrone Power shows no sense of rhythm, or that the plot is pure hokum, or that the First World War is over in a montage that's quicker than a wink. No... what matters is that this is a glorious Irving Berlin songfest, with Alice Faye and a young Ethel Merman belting out some of Tin Pan Alley's best and brightest. Unfortunately, there is a plot, and it's 20th Century-Fox's old triangular one: guess who gets Alice: Ty or his best friend, Don Ameche? Puhleeze... Just relax, and revel in the music.
