A screenwriter, who lives in a cabin by the lake near Los Angeles, drowns young women, then goes back to visit their bodies and do their laundry.
Having tasted success with The Wisdom of Crocodiles, it took courage for director Po Chih Leong to opt for a TV movie. But, he imbues this hybrid of Kiss the Girls and Death and the Maiden with a deeply disturbing atmosphere and no little suspense. Cast against type, Judd Nelson impresses as the screenwriter who draws inspiration from kidnapping and killing young women, whom he then buries in his underwater garden of remembrance. However, his last victim, Hedy Burress, proves a more than capable adversary. With its eerily ingenious photography and agonisingly measured pace, this might just change your views on made-for-TV thrillers.
