Summary

Horror starring Patrick Macnee and Peter Cushing. A holiday in Greece turns into a nightmare orgy of black magic and drug-induced decadence for Foreign Secretary's son and Oxford student Richard Fountain. The young man's friends set out in search of him, but the trail, which leads to the island of Hydra, is littered with a number of mysterious deaths.

Based on Simon Raven's novel Doctors Wear Scarlet, this little-seen oddity clearly fails to surmount its production problems. The budget ran out in Cyprus and planned re-shoots never happened, so it was hastily patched together and subsequently disowned by horror maestro Robert Hartford-Davis, who signed it "Michael Burrowes". Yet flashes of imagination shine through as Patrick Macnee helps Madeline Hinde save her fiancé Patrick Mower from Greek Satanists. Vampirism as an extension of sexual perversion is just one of the potent issues raised in this rare collector's item.
