Comedy starring Peter Falk and Alan Arkin. Insurance salesman Leonard Hoffman desperately needs money to send his triplet sons to Yale. When he is approached by a beautiful woman with a plan to murder her husband and split the insurance cash, it's an offer he finds hard to refuse.
An odd switch of tactics for the great improvisational director, John Cassavetes - a blandly contrived take-off of Double Indemnity, with insurance man Alan Arkin conniving with Beverly D'Angelo to take out a lethal kind of insurance policy on her husband (Peter Falk). So far, so conventional. But there are enough off-the-wall surprises to raise it just above the average spoof thriller; one of which is that Arkin needs the money to send his trio of musical children to Yale.
