Chad Everett (real name Raymon Cramton!) became a teen heart-throb in the US TV series Medical Center, which ran until the mid-1970s. His subsequent career included useful supporting roles in features and leading roles in half-baked programme-fillers such as this, a TV movie in America, and a supporting theatrical film over here. Director Sidney Hayers (a veteran of The Avengers TV series) keeps up the pace as unlikely insurance investigator Everett hunts an arsonist throughout a London seemingly still stuck in the Swinging Sixties and peopled with well-known British character actors (Keith Barron, Roy Kinnear). He's aided by lovely Anjanette Comer, who once co-starred with Marlon Brando in The Appaloosa, and they make a glamorous, if improbable, twosome.
