Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

The Fly meets Altered States in this bizarre oddity, written and directed by GL Eastman - in reality Luigi Montefiore, Italian restauranteur and star of such schlock-horror "classics" as Antropophagus and Porno Holocaust. Attempting to reverse the ageing process, genetic scientist Gene LeBrock injects himself in the eye with a DNA serum, mutates into a murderous reptile monster, then goes further back on the evolutionary scale to become a living fossil. Despite the so-so effects and barely adequate acting (Black Emmanuelle star Laura Gemser also designed the costumes), this has a quirky atmosphere that's quite unusual.
