Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

After the overtly political Posse, writer/star/producer Mario Van Peebles loosens up considerably for this engaging western. This time around ace gunslinger Peebles finds himself the unwitting saviour of a group of patients at a very primitive mental asylum, after the inmates save him from death. The star is as charismatic as before and his script nods slyly towards Clint Eastwood's classic The Outlaw Josey Wales. Western purists may wince at some of the modern liberties that are taken, but it's always watchable.
