Two dumb soda jerks dream of writing radio mysteries. When they try to pitch an idea at a radio station, they end up in the middle of a real murder after the station owner is killed during a broadcast.
Part of the abiding success of Abbott and Costello was that there were few - if any - surprises in their films. Familiarity lent contentment and Lou was always going to be put upon (but emerge triumphant) and Bud was always going to be surly. Their characters are equally familiar as two not-very-bright soda jerks with ambitions to write for radio. When they go to the station with an idea for a mystery series, the duo find themselves mixed up in a real case when the boss is killed during a live show. Cue action and some mild comedy. Not vintage Bud and Lou but still a delight for the fans.
